Poteau track teams finish sixth at Airedale Senior Relays on Tuesday

ALMA, Ark. — Both the Poteau Pirates and Lady Pirates track teams finished sixth at Tuesday afternoon's Airedale Senior Relays.
The Pirates scored 34 points, finishing behind champion Russellville, Ark. (176 points). Host Alma was runner-up (164 points), followed by three other Arkansas schools — Fort Smith Southside (102.5), Van Buren (47.5) and Magazine (35).
As for the Lady Pirates, they scored 51 points. Southside won the team title with 139 points, followed by Russellville (98), Van Buren (71.5), Magazine (61) and Mansfield, Ark. (61).
The highest finish for any Pirate individual or relay was fourth. Individually, Nico Hall was fourth in the 1,600-meter run (4:56.84) and was sixth in the 3,200-meter run (10:53.86).
Dakota Clark was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.83 seconds) and 300-meter hurdles (42.85), while Trevor Shankle was fourth in the shot put (45-1).
Austin Barrette, Jesse Woodson, Michael Reynolds and Kendrick Hardaway were fourth in the 400-meter relay (45.2 seconds).
Woodson was sixth (11.48 seconds) and Hardaway sixth (11.56) in the 100-meter dash, while Devin Anderson, Hardaway, Dylan Fox and Clark were seventh in the 1,600-meter relay (3:48.19).
For the Lady Pirates, they had the only individual or relay team with an event win as Jazmine Warren, Sheridan Hoyer, Deven Bond and Colleen Peterson won the 3,200-meter relay (10:32.2).
Peterson, Hoyer, Bond and Latifah Harris were runners-up in the 1,600-meter relay (4:22.16).
Harris was third in the 100-meter dash (13.17 seconds), while Brianna Steele was eighth (13.79). Harris was also third in the 200-meter dash (27.32), while Peterson was third in the 400-meter dash (1:04.76).
Warren was fourth in the 800-meter run (2:37.77), while Bond was fourth in the 1,600-meter run (5:56.24).
Skyler Webster was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.36 seconds) and eighth in the 300-meter hurdles (57.2).
The Poteau track teams are scheduled to run today at the Checotah Invitational, which will begin at 9 a.m. Then on Friday, the Poteau teams will run at the Hilldale Invitational, which will begin at 11:30 a.m. in Muskogee.
