Last season as a sophomore, Poteau High School wrestler Tyler Tustin became only the second Pirate to win a state title — joining his cousin, Jerry Collins (husband of current Lady Pirate softball coach Misty Collins), as state champions on the mat.
Beginning Friday, Tustin will begin competing at the Class 4A State Tournament at Oklahoma City's State Fair Arena with a chance at repeating.
“It would feel great,” Tustin said about repeating. “It's what I've worked for all year. I've been looking forward to this all year long. If it happens, it will be great. I'm looking forward to this weekend. I'm ready to go.”
