The Poteau Pirates wrestling team will try to secure a bid to next month's Class 4A Dual State Tournament on Thursday night at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.
The Pirates (11-4) will welcome the Sallisaw Black Diamonds and the Wagoner Bulldogs to town for three duals beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday. Sallisaw and Wagoner will go first, followed by Poteau against Sallisaw and Poteau against Wagoner.
"In the latest rating, Sallisaw is fourth and Wagoner is eighth, but I think it's pretty much the other way around,” said Jack Hornbuckle, Poteau's first-year coach. “Wagoner is quite a bit tougher than Sallisaw, but they're both really good teams.”
