Poteau wrestlers get homecoming win Monday night over Stilwell; Victory counts toward Thursday's Class 4A District Duals at Sallisaw

The Poteau High School wrestling team accomplished two things at once in Monday night's dual against the Stilwell Indians at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.
First of all, the Pirates made it a happy homecoming by beating the Indians and former Poteau coach Chris Barbee 61-18. Secondly, the win gave the Pirates a 1-0 record in the Class 4A District Duals as they head to Sallisaw on Thursday to finish what they hope will be a berth into next month's Class 4A Dual State Tournament. If the Pirates beat the host Black Diamonds and the Wagoner Bulldogs, they will be at dual state next month. Whichever of the four teams, Poteau, Sallisaw, Wagoner and Stilwell, has the best record at the end of the day on Thursday will make dual state.
