The Poteau Pirates wrestling team ended its regular season by losing its Senior Night dual 24-18 to the McAlester Buffaloes on Tuesday at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.
The good news is the Pirates won three matches by pin — Sam Shore at 138 pounds, Khy Mote at 182 and Daylon Brewton at heavyweight.
The Talihina Golden Tigers brought two wrestlers, Domnick Shedd and Caleb Blue, to face a couple of Pirates. Both won by pin.
The night did end on a high note as Poteau coach Jack Hornbuckle was awarded a plaque by assistant coach Dewayne Hornbuckle in honor of his 400th coaching win earlier this season.
