Poteau wrestlers lose season opener at Glenpool

GLENPOOL — The Poteau Pirates wrestling team suffered a season-opening 57-27 loss to the Glenpool Warriors Thursday night.
The Pirates (0-1) won four matches, three of which were by pinfalls from Devin Anderson (113 pounds), Tyler Tustin (132) and Kyle Kingery (152). Poteau's other win came in a 5-1 decision by Khy Mote at 160 pounds.
There was a double forfeit at 106 pounds, and the Warriors got a forfeited win at 126 as well as won seven of the other eight matches by pin and a 7-2 decision atr 171 pounds.
The Pirates will be in the Jay Border Wars this weekend before having their home-opening dual at 7 p.m. Tuesday against the Talihina Golden Tigers at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.
