Poteau Youth Wrestling Club has 47 members place in own tournament last weekend

UPPER CLASSMEN — Here are seven of the upper division (Divisions III, IV and V) placers of the Poteau Youth Wrestling Club in their own tournament last weekend at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse. It was a banner Poteau Tournament for the Poteau Youth Wrestling Club on Nov. 9 at Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse. The club had 47 members place.
The tournament itself had 17 teams represented in the tournament and nearly 200 wrestlers in the five different divisions of action.
Of the 47 members who placed for the local organization, 12 of them took home the gold in their respective weight classes. In Division I, Coy Fredrickson (40 pounds), Drew Moro (43 pounds), Hayden Moro (52 pounds) and Mason Stone (60 pounds) won their respective titles in their weight classes.
Zane Hendrix (73 pounds), Zackery Broom (80 pounds) and Grant Ford (heavyweight) came in first place in Division III.
In Division IV, Hunter Williams (67 pounds), Nathan Ulmer (130 pounds) and Bryson Myers (heavyweight) claimed gold, while Bryson Terry (89 pounds) and Jarrett Lilley (120 pounds) did so in Division V.
Eight other club members came in runners-up. Jaycob Graves (43 pounds) and Ethan Thornburg (60 pounds) did so in Division I, while Bret Butler (58 pounds) did likewise in Division II.
In Division III, Caden Warren (70 pounds), Braden Albright (73 pounds) and Will Restine (heavyweight) finished in second place as did Ethan Carey (76 pounds) in Division IV and Aaron Hopson (heavyweight) Division V.
There were 13 wrestlers who finished in third place. In Division I, Nathan Emerson (40 pounds) and Tristan Jordan (43 pounds) were third.
Noah Peterson (46 pounds), Remington Reed (61 pounds), Colby Thornburg (75 pounds) and Jason Phillips (83 pounds) were third in Division II.
In Division III, Blaze Emerson (73 pounds), Triston Barber (100 pounds) and James Moss (heavyweight) were third, while Kaden Cates (67 pounds) and Dakota James (100 pounds) came in third in Division IV. Ross Johnson (113 pounds) and Rae Hendrix (120 pounds) were third in Division V.
Jaxon James (43 pounds) and Luke Restine (60 pounds) were fourth in Division I, while Jake Fredrickson (49 pounds), Kason Terry (55 pounds), Ashton “A.J.” Roberts (58 pounds) and Tyler Fassio (75 pounds) were fourth in Division II. In Division III, Garrett Butler was fourth at 100 pounds.
Grayson Egbert (40 pounds) and Imugene Bench (55 pounds) were fifth in Division I.
In Division II, Grant Thomas (49 pounds), Alejandro Perez (58 pounds) and Hunter Myers (75 pounds) were fifth, while Ashley Broom (58 pounds) and Dalton Dollar (76 pounds) were fifth in Division III. Austin Restine was fifth at 130 pounds in Division IV.
Club member Luke Brooks represented the organization and Poteau at the Lawton Tournament this weekend.
