Poteau's losses have come against top three 4A-4 teams

October 15, 2012

STRETCH DRIVE FOR PIRATES — Poteau's Roger Barcheers, center, prepares to dart through a hole on a running play during Friday night's District 4A-4 game against Tulsa Cascia Hall. The Pirates will begin the stretch drive of the season, and seeking a playoff berth, beginning with Thursday night's home game against Muldrow at 7:30 p.m. at Costner Stadium. The Poteau Pirates have lost three games this season, all to District 4A-4 teams — the three teams I think are the best teams of the district, Sallisaw, Fort Gibson and Tulsa Cascia Hall.
It's coming down to crunch time for Poteau, Muldrow and Broken Bow.
These three teams will do battle and the fourth place team out of 4A-4 will be one of those teams. So the next two weeks will be crucial for the Pirates. First, the Muldrow Bulldogs will invade Costner Stadium Thursday night, then the Pirates will go across the mountain to face the Broken Bow Savages the following week. The Pirates will face the Tulsa Rogers Ropers on Senior Night at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 2.
