A 'Priest'-ly visit to Dick's Sporting Goods in Fort Smith

November 4, 2011

MEETING PRIEST — Outdoor columnist Jody Ray Adams' son, Jacques, left, gets an autograph from former Kansas City Chiefs running back Priest Holmes during the grand opening for the newest Dick's Sporting Goods Store in Fort Smith, Ark. Photo by Jenny Adams

Last Saturday and Sunday, I went to the new Dick's Sporting Goods store's grand opening in Fort Smith, Ark. It's big! The whole right side of the store is nothing by golf stuff. All you golf nuts will be happy.
I met professional fishermen Zell Rolland and Bobby Murray. The fishing tackle section was small, but they did have “flying squirrels” and “electric chickens” — two baits that I love to fish with during the winter.
On Sunday, we went back to the new store to meet former Kansas City Chiefs running back Priest Holmes. he was really nice, and we talked a little about barbecue and football.
We also went to their fish tank in the parking lot, and we watched some angling techniques. I'm ready to go fishing, eat some barbecue and watch football now!
