PYWC member wins title at USJOC last weekend; several members place, participate

OKLAHOMA CITY — Poteau Youth Wrestling Club member Dauntay Warren won his weight class title in the novice portion of the 2012 United States Junior Open Championships last weekend at Satte Fair Arena.
Warren was one of four novice wrestlers and four open wrestlers who placed in the event for the Poteau Youth Wrestling Club.
In the novice division, Caden Warren was third, while Ethan Carey and James Moss was fifth.
In the open division, Luke Brooks was fourth, Kaydon Evans was fifth and Dalton Edwards and Ross Johnson were sixth.
Other club novice members who participated but did not place were Jackson Morris, Remington Reed and Gavin Morgan, while Bryson Terry, Jarrett Lilley, Jarrod Vineyard, Bryce Edwards, Race Williams and Drake Barbee.
The USJOC is one of the hardest tournaments in the United States. Participants come from all over the U.S. to attend, and there were more than 2,500 kids at this year's event.
