Do the Oklahoma Sooners have a quarterback controversy? Trevor Knight started and won his second straight game, but he failed to convert when the Sooners twice got deep in the red zone. However, the fickled Sooner fans at E.K. Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium began to yell, “We want Bell!”
Well, they got him, and he fared no better, even though the Sooners were in an ultra-slow motion offensive style of play with a nine-point advantage.
Do the true Sooner fans remember that Bell personally lost the Kansas State game as he fumbled the ball twice?
The only quarterback controversy that I can see is coming from the press box as former QB and co-offensive coordinator Josh Heupel simply called a terrible game, and he put Knight in terrible down and distances.
I played in the 2013 Church Golf League this summer. My team from the Church of the Nazarene, comprised of yours truly, Carl Fuggett and Connor Whitworth, won the third flight title with a +4, tying for first with Southside Baptist but winning on a coin toss.
The first flight was also won by the Church of the Nazarene as Lyle Whitworth, Neal Doggett and Gary Beason won with a -27, beating out the First Baptist Church of Heavener's trio of John Summers, Bobby Pickle and Brock Hardin (-25).
Terry, Susan and Cathleen Manlove, along with Cody Shore, won the second flight championship for the First Christian Church with a -26. The Poteau First United Methodist Church team of Mike and Dustin Hall, along with Joe Sabatucci, was second (-18).
