Quinton man dies in accident

September 7, 2011

A single vehicle accident
that sent one man to
the hospital last week for
critical injuries turned
tragic after the injured
man succumbed to his
injuries on Wednesday.
According to the accident
report released by the
Oklahoma Highway
Patrol, Leon Wright, 58,
of Quinton was driving a
2004 Yamaha V-Star on
State Highway 31 approximately
two miles east of
Quinton when he attempted
to turn onto State
Highway 2.
According to the report,
Trooper Easton concluded
that Wright was traveling
too fast on a curve and as
he attempted to turn onto
SH2 he lost control and
rolled the motorcycle a
quarter of a time coming
to rest on the left side.
Wright was transported
by Airevac to St. Francis
Hospital in Tulsa and
admitted in critical condition with head injuries.
Twenty four hours later,
Wright succumbed to his
injuries sustained from the
accident and was released
to the Medical Examiner's
Office in Tulsa.
