Mother Nature was the winner at several high school softball district tournaments on Thursday.
Rain washed out several high school playoff games, making them rescheduled for today.
The Class 2A District Tournament with Pocola at Panama was rained out Thursday, and will be rescheduled for a doubleheader at 10 a.m. this morning. Panama Coach and Athletic Director Grant Ralls said that if a third game is needed it would be played on Saturday.
The Class 3A District Tournament at Spiro with Stigler was rained out Thursday. Spiro Coach Melissa Darneal said that games will try to get started at noon today for at least two games, if umpires can be found. Darneal said she is not certain if they will try to play all three games, if they are needed, today â€” or schedule the winner-take-all game on Saturday.
Howe's Class A District Tournament at Keota with Porum was rained out Thursday. Games have been rescheduled for noon, with Porum meeting Keota. The loser will get Howe at 2 p.m., while the winner will get Howe at 4 p.m. Howe Coach Shane Brown believed that the final game or games will be played on Saturday.
Arkoma's games at the Class B District Tournament at Braggs was rained out Thursday, with action rescheduled for today. Arkoma will play Cave Springs at noon this afternoon, with the loser meeting Braggs at 1:30 p.m. The Arkoma-Cave Springs winner will meet Braggs at 3 p.m. The title game will be played at 4:30 p.m. and the if-game at 6 p.m.
The Leflore-Red Oak Class B District Tournament was rained out Thursday, and the best-of-three games will be played today beginning at 1 p.m.
Whitesboro's Class B District Tournament was originally scheduled for today, with Whitesboro meeting Battiest at 10 a.m., with the loser meeting Eagletown at 11:30 a.m. The Whitesboro-Battiest winner will face Eagletown at 1 p.m. The title game is set for 2:30 p.m., with the if-game at 4 p.m.
