Red Oak gets past Wister to win CASC Classic

The Red Oak Eagles and the Wister Wildcats were to have met on Aug. 12 in Red Oak, but the game was rained out. But their paths finally crossed Saturday afternoon in the title game of the 16th annual Carl Albert Fall Baseball Classic at CASC's Ival Goodman Field.
The Eagles got past the Wildcats 11-5 to win the championship.
The Eagles (10-1) got past the Cameron Yellowjackets 5-1 Friday night at Howe's Lions Field, while the ’Cats (8-2) run ruled Crowder 13-3 Friday afternoon at Ival Goodman Field in the other championship semifinal.
The ’Jackets (10-4) won the third-place game with an 8-0, five-inning, run-rule victory over Crowder.
The Howe Lions won the consolation championship by forfeit over Okay. Okay was taking the place of Leflore, which opted to play in the Calvin Tournament. Okay, which doubled up Smithville 16-8 Friday afternoon at Ival Goodman Field in the consolation semifinals, could not make it back to the tournament on Saturday.
The Lions (3-6) reached the consolation finals by defeating McCurtain 15-7 on Friday at Lions Field.
