Regional tournaments rough on local teams; only Poteau Lady Pirates left

The high school fast-pitch softball and fall baseball regional tournaments were rough on our local teams this past weekend.
We started with eight teams on the diamond, and now we're down to just one set of diamond dolls — the Poteau Lady Pirates, who will be in the Class 4A Regional Tournament later this week to try to make state for the first time in eight years. The schedule is at the end of this column.

At Bethel High School
Thursday
Seminole vs. Bethel, noon; Poteau vs. Harrah, 2 p.m.; Seminole-Bethel loser vs. Poteau-Harrah loser, 4 p.m.; Seminole-Bethel winner vs. Poteau-Harrah winner, 6 p.m.
Friday
4 p.m. Thursday winner vs. 6 p.m. Thursday loser, noon; noon winner vs. 6 p.m. Thursday winner, 2 p.m.; if-game, 4 p.m.
