Roland Rangers get past Spiro Bulldogs in crucial District 3A-8 football game

October 27, 2012

ROLAND — After trailing by three touchdowns, the Spiro Bulldogs fought back to within four points with a big third quarter. However, the rally came up short as they lost to the Roland Rangers by a score of 36-24 Friday night in a crucial District 3A-8 contest.
The ’Dogs (5-4 overall, 4-2 in district play), who saw their four-game winning streak come to a halt, will entertain the Checotah Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. next Friday night at McClain Stadium for Senior Night. It appears as if Spiro will end up being a road team in the playoffs, but a win next week and some help may put them back into the position of second place and a home playoff game.
