Rose Eva Bowen, 78, of Quinton, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 at the Oaks Healthcare Center in Poteau. Rose was born on Nov. 13, 1934, in Poteau to Jabes Eugene and Bertha Dove (Waddle) Goodman. She attended Poteau High School and Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. In 1948, Rose married Bobby Wesley Bowen, who preceded her in death on June 18, 2011. She was a member of the Jesus Name Church in Quinton.
Survivors include sons, Robert Wesley Bowen of Enterprise, David Wayne Bowen and wife Marlissa of Poteau; daughter, Eva Lorene Glynn and husband Tony of Quinton; brother, Jimmy Allen Ratterree of Fort Gibson; sisters Norma Jean Smith of Yucaipa, Calif., Lois Madge Nelson and husband Jack of Enterprise, Billie Jean Gammell, of Eucha, Mary Belle Rasmussen, of Clay Center, Kan.; grandchildren Tony Glynn and wife Emily, John Glynn and wife April, Gary Glynn and wife Jennifer, Wesley Bowen, Joshua Bowen, Noah Bowen, Briar Bowen and Whitley Bowen; and great grandchildren, Mikeal Glynn, Garrett Glynn, Mayson Glynn, Novah Glynn, Gavin Glynn, Aidan Glynn, Greenlee Glynn, Ethan Glynn, Adam Glynn, Brittany Bowen-Randell and Dwayne Randell-Bowen Jr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Goodman and Bertha Ratterree; daughter, Betty Jean Bowen; and one grandson, Dwayne Randell-Bowen.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the Oak Leaf Room with the Rev. Donnie Taylor officiating. Inurnment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Hunn and Black Funeral Home, Quinton.
