Roxie Moore

Roxie Moore was raised in Van Buren,Ark. and married Warren D. Moore onAug. 14, 1943, in Douglas, Ariz. Warren,Roxie and their kids moved to Poteau in1963 from Stillwater, and joined the FirstUnited Methodist Church at that time.Roxie and Warren were expert bridgeplayers and were fortunate enough to findkindred spirits in the life-long friends theymade in Poteau.Roxie’s greatest joy was her family. She found a truepartner in Warren and they were blessed to have 65 yearstogether. Her children, grandchildren, and most recentlyher great-grandchildren were the light of her life.She was preceded in death by her husband, parents,three sisters, Naomi Rapier, Geneve Daugherty, and OlaMae Cameron; and two brothers, Ernest and Joe Burgess.She is survived by two sons, Ken Moore and his wifeMary Alice of Burton, Mich., and Dr. Tim Moore and hiswife Kathy, of Stroud; and a daughter, Sheryl Semore andher husband Lee, of Norman.; two sisters, Peggy Baberand her husband James of Bella Vista, Ark., and RobbieToothaker and her husband, Jack of Van Buren; 10 grandchildrenand 13 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces,nephews, and friends.Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Oct. 10,at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Van Buren under thedirection of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.Family visitation will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. atOcker Funeral Home.
