Rudolph Carpenter

Rudolph Carpenter, 81, of Wister died Sunday, April 1, 2012, in Wister. Rudy was born July 12, 1930, in Red Oak to Walter C. and Lydia (Dodd) Carpenter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Rudy owned a barber shop in Wister for over 50 years. He had cut as many as five generations of the same family’s hair.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Luree of the home; sons, Gary and Emmie Carpenter, Ricky Carpenter, James Carpenter, all of Wister, and Rodney Carpenter of Enid; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren; brother, Landy and Tillie Carpenter of Poteau;  other relatives and loved ones.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, April 5, at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Rev. Jack Covey officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. Pallbearers will be Glen Midgley, Mike Young, Bro. John Brown, Bro. Joe Trammel, Donald Lotchleas and Bobby Lotchleas.
