Ruth Ann (Treat) Pickering
Ruth Ann (Treat) Pickering, 66, of Bokoshe died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. Ruth was born July 25, 1948, in McAlester to Allen Newton and Anna Belle (Rice) Southard. She was a retired seamstress, rancher, wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Charley Treat, and siblings, Doyle and Richard Southard and Grace Testa.Ruth is survived by her husband, Ed Pickering of Bokoshe; five children, Beverly McCutchan and husband Fred of Poteau, Charles Treat of El Reno, Misty Treat of Phoenix, Ariz., Dustin Treat and wife Stacey of Bokoshe, Justin Treat and wife Stephanie of Bokoshe; two brothers, Clarence Southard and wife Kitty of Owasso, Kenneth Southard and wife Maxine of McAlester; sisters, Dorothy Todd and husband Carl, Clara Garcia all of McAlester, Alice Day and husband Laurence of Douglas, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Keith Treat, Carley McCutchan, Brayden Treat, Hailey Treat, Austin Treat, Landon Treat, Anna Treat, Alexander Treat, and Seth Treat; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives, loved ones and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with the Rev. David Billy officiating. Burial will be in Old Bokoshe Cemetery, Bokoshe. Pallbearers will be Dale Whitecotton, Dewayne Whitecotton, Craig Burbank, Aaron Todd, Jake Todd, Mitchell Garcia, Ricky Southard and Chris Testa.The family will visit with relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
