Sallisaw outlasts Poteau girls in eight innings Friday afternoon

SALLISAW — A four-run eighth inning doomed the Poteau Lady Pirates as they lost 7-4 to the Sallisaw Lady Black Diamonds.
The Lady Pirates (6-16) broke a 3-all tie in the top of the eighth inning on Bayli Soriano's RBI single, scoring Sunnie McConnell, to give Poteau a 4-3 lead.
Editor's note: Cameron's road game at Buffalo Valley that was originally scheduled for Friday was moved to Tuesday. Also, several of Tuesday's games were rained out — Leflore at Whitesboro, Pocola and Oktaha at Panama, Smithville at Howe, Arkoma at Keota, Cameron at Buffalo Valley, Spiro at Stilwell and Wister at Hartshorne. The Leflore-Whitesboro game has been rescheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday, while the others have not been rescheduled as of press time.
