Santa Fe South avenges state final loss to Poteau; Pirates fall to Saints in state soccer semifinals

May 15, 2014

OKLAHOMA CITY — Last year's Class 4A state title game was very close between the Poteau Pirates and the Santa Fe South Saints, so it was going to figure when the same two teams met in Tuesday night's state semifinals in Oklahoma City that it was bound to be much of the same.
Unfortunately for the Pirates, the outcome was not the same as the Saints avenged last year's title game loss with a 3-1 victory to advance for the second straight year to the Class 4A state championship contest this weekend at the University of Tulsa.
