School Board elections today

February 12, 2013

Voters in six LeFlore County communities will cast ballots for school board candidates today. Shady Point voters also will decide on a $175,000 school bond proposal.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to Election Board Secretary Sharon Steele. Anyone in line when a poll closes will be allowed to cast a ballot.
To find your polling place, contact the election board at (918) 647-3701.
Voters are required to show a government-issued photo ID or their voter registration card.
The Shady Point bond proposition would fund construction, equipping, repair and remodeling of school buildings, furniture and fixtures, and the improvement of school sites. Officials said the proposal will not increase taxes because old bonds are being retired.
Shady Point voters also will vote for either Shila Waddle or Gary Wright for school board.
Fanshawe voters will decide between Brandon Baldwin and Casey Osterhout to finish an unexpired term.
The Keota district, which lies partly in LeFlore County, has a three-way race involving candidates Roger Weece, Keith Nolen and Dan H. Drummonds.
Spiro voters will choose between Eddie Stout and Raymond Rhodes.
Todd Vickers and Lee Morris are the candidates in Heavener.
Voters in Talihina will decide between Brian Holland and Rodney Faulkenberry.
