The search for a plane believed to have crashed near Pipe Springs Road resumed Wednesday morning after nightfall halted the search Tuesday night.
According to the LeFlore County Sheriff's Department, the search began after they were notified by the Federal Aviation Administration that a Piper 28, black, yellow and white in color had failed to make it's destination.
Elmer Ray Broadbent, 71, of Heber Springs, Ark., reportedly left Searcy, Ark., Monday at about 1:30 p.m headed to Elk Springs, Okla. Broadbent never arrived, according to officials.
The last time Broadbent's plane was located on radar was Monday night at about 8 p.m., according to radio communitcations.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, fire department members and volunteers are searching for the missing plane and pilot near the Haw Creek community.
