Sen. Inhofe meets with U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff

January 18, 2013

Senator Jim Inhofe arrived at the TAC Air FBO at Fort Smith Regional Airport Friday morning to meet with U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh III.

On Friday morning, Senator Jim Inhofe (Okla.) along with Senators Mark Pryor and John Boozman (Ark.) arrived in Fort Smith to meet with U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Welsh III to discuss the impact of a recent defense budget cut that will affect the 188th Fighter Wing.
According to Inhofe, approximately 200-300 members of the 188th are Oklahoma residents. Of the 1000 jobs filled at the 188th, Inhofe said the cuts could affect 10 percent of employees.
The replacement of the A-10's with unmanned assault vehicles is the most likely change to expect, said Inhofe.
