Senior linebacker sees 'Red Out' as an extra motivator Friday night against Hilldale Hornets
When the Poteau Pirates open District 4A-4 play at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Costner Stadium against the Hilldale Hornets, fans are being asked to wear red to have a “Red Out” affect on the visitors. Senior linebacker Marshall Jones believe such a spirit booster does just that.“It just shows that everyone in the community is supporting us,” Jones said. “They're willing to come out and play football. It makes us really happy, knowing they're that proud of us. It adds more enthusiasm. It makes us feel that everyone is a part of the game, having their red jerseys on. (Hilldale's) colors are red and white, too. This will show that we're all here, and we're ready to go.”— — —Pulled-Pork Sandwich Supper Before Friday's GameThere will be a pulled-pork sandwich supper from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at Costner Stadium, prior to the Hilldale-Poteau game.
