If there's been a night when the Poteau Pirates football team believes will be the night to end the losing streak to archrival Sallisaw, it's Friday night.
“I think we're ready for them,” said Poteau senior wide receiver Kendrick Hardaway, whose Pirates will face the Black Diamonds at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Sallisaw's Perry F. Lattimore Stadium. “Both programs have tradition. Honestly, we've been really looking forward to this game as we prepared through the off-season. We think this is the year that it's going to happen.”
