Several blood drives scheduled in county

Several blood drives will be held in LeFlore County during the next week.

Blood drives are scheduled at three locations in the coming weeks, according to the Oklahoma Blood Institute.
Carl Albert State College are inviting Poteau-area residents 16 years or older* to donate blood from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, or 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 1507 S. McKenna.
Arkoma High School will host a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at 100 Blocker.
Blood donors will receive a free T-shirt, health screenings and Donor Rewards points, redeemable for merchandise in OBI’s online store.
Spiro Upper Elementary School will hold a drive from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at 600 W. Broadway.
Donors are invited to this blood drive by Spiro Upper Elementary School students and will receive a Goofy Pen for donating, which can be given to the student who encouraged them to donate. Donors will also receive health screenings and Donor Rewards points, redeemable for merchandise in OBI’s online store.

If donors prefer, they can forgo the T-shirt to support the Global Blood Fund. Oklahoma Blood Institute will redirect funds for the item to this charity assisting blood centers in developing countries.
