Several county football teams get final tune-ups Friday; two scrimmages will feature county vs. county match-ups — Heavener-Panama, Pocola-Spiro

While the Poteau Pirates football team got its final preseason tune-up in tonight’s four-way scrimmage at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah against the host Tahlequah Tigers, Wagoner Bulldogs and the Hilldale Hornets, the other LeFlore County teams will get their final tune-ups on Friday.
Of the five scrimmages featuring county teams today, two will have two local squads going up against each other. One of them, Heavener at Panama, will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at Panama’s George Ollie Stadium.
The other county vs. county match-up will have the Pocola Indians visiting the Spiro Bulldogs for a scrimmage at 6 p.m. Friday at McClain Stadium.
The Arkoma Mustangs will entertain the Webbers Falls Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Mustang Field.
The Bokoshe Tigers will be in their only preseason scrimmage this season, facing Cave Springs in Bunch. The junior high will go at 4:30 p.m. Friday, with the varsity going afterward.
The Talihina Golden Tigers will face Class 2A perennial power Vian at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Vian.
