Shirley Jacqueline White

Shirley Jacqueline White, 74, of Spiro died Friday, April 25, 2014, in Fort Smith, Ark. Shirley was born August 4, 1939, in Rock Springs, Wyo., to Milton M. and Fleeta L. (Morelock) Claxton. She was an interior designer and owner of Village Flowers and Gifts in Panama. Shirley attended Victory Worship Center. She was a member of Silver Haired Legislature, lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary 4884, past president of Eagles 3860, member of the Red Hat Society, American Legion – Bokoshe, Order of the Eastern Star and LeFlore County Election Board. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy White Sr.; Grandson, Jonah White and special pup, Sparky.Survivors include her husband, John Quakenbush of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Russ White of Poteau, Kim and Jeff Pyles of Mansfield, Ark; son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Angela White of Galveston, Texas; nine grandchildren, H.J. Pierce, Brittany and Cody Ward, Jacob, Jordan, Bethany, Tiffany White, Kaylie Pyles, Teresa Dacus, Lisa McAnelley; five great-grandchildren, Aden Wheat, Cadian Ward, Ashley and Deidra McAnelley, and Michael Dacus; lifelong friends, Trudy Mosbech, Janice Thompson, Reba Roland; special companions (dogs) Buddy and Mike.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at Victory Worship Center, Spiro, with the Rev. Bryan Fout officiating. Burial will be in Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point. Pallbearers will be members of The Black Widows Motorcycle Club.Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau.
