Sjoberg speaks about new school proposal

August 23, 2013

A LOOK AHEAD — Poteau Public Schools Superintendent Don Sjoberg, standing, talks to Poteau Kiwanis Club members at their weekly meeting Thursday at Western Sizzlin. Sjoberg discussed the need for a new high school building, and what it will take to make such an aspiration become reality. He did say that because of current facilities that the district is turning down transfer requests for students in pre-K and kindergarten, and is fearful that the same thing may happen at the high school level. School board members are considering a proposed $21.575 million bond issue for a new high school.
