Softball district assignments for Classes 3A through B, fall baseball released by OSSAA

September 10, 2011

The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Activities Association announced the fall 2011 district assignments for fast-pitch softball for Classes 3A down through Class B as well as all fall baseball classes.
In Class 3A softball, both LeFlore County teams, Heavener and Spiro, will be host schools. Eufaula will visit Heavener, while Stigler (which eliminated Heavener in last fall's district tournament in Heavener) will be at Spiro.
All four local teams in Class 2A softball will get to be within the county's borders. Panama will entertain Pocola, while Talihina will visit Wister.
Both Class A county softball teams, Howe and Cameron, will be on the road for district tournaments. Howe, along with Porum, will visit Keota. Cameron and Gans will visit Gore, but the Lady Yellowjackets have yet to play a game because of lack of numbers.
None of the Class B softball teams were given a host site. Arkoma and Cave Springs will be at Braggs, Bokoshe and Panola will be at McCurtain, Leflore will be at Red Oak and Whitesboro and Eagletown will be at Battiest.
In fall baseball, Wister was awarded a district tournament with Howe and Crowder visiting.
Cameron, along with Preston and Okay, was sent to Oktaha for a Class A District Tournament.
In Class B, Leflore and Whitesboro were sent to Buffalo Valley.
The Class 4A girls district assignment for Poteau will be announced next week.
