Spiro boys begin ’12-’13 season Tuesday with road basketball game against Eufaula Ironheads

December 2, 2012

The Spiro Bulldogs will begin clawing their way to basketball wins Tuesday night when they open their 2012-13 season at Eufaula for an 8 p.m. game.
The Bulldogs were 18-9 last season, and return two starters from last year — junior guard Knifeis Carter (16 points, four rebounds a game last season) and senior guard Jermaine Jimmerson (11 points, eight rebounds).
Carter is among the top 100 players to watch this high school season in the state of Oklahoma in the Vype Oklahoma Basketball Preview magazine.
Editor's note — No preseason information on the Spiro girls has been received yet. Once the information on the Lady Bulldogs, as well as other LeFlore County teams, has been received — and their season openers approach — look for their season-preview stories to appear. Any coach which needs a questionnaire sent to them, call sports editor David Seeley at (918) 647-3188 or e-mail to sports@poteaudailynews.com.
