Spiro boys rally late to down Antlers Bearcats; Bulldogs playing Saturday night for regional title

February 22, 2013

WILBURTON — All that matters is who leads at the end of the game. Just ask the Spiro Bulldogs.
After trailing for the first 30 minutes of action in Thursday night’s Class 3A Regional Tournament game against the Antlers Bearcats, the Bulldogs grabbed the lead in the final two minutes of regulation to pull out a 56-53 victory.
The ’Dogs (18-7) will play the Hugo Buffaloes at 8 p.m. Saturday in Antlers for the regional title, but both teams will advance to next week’s Class 3A Area Tournament at Byng High School’s Bill Kohler Fieldhouse.
