EDMOND — In 2012, the Spiro Bulldogs baseball team made the Class 3A State Tournament, only to suffer a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to the Verdigris Cardinals in the quarterfinals.
The same two teams met Friday afternoon in the Class 3A State Tournament semifinals at Edmond Santa Fe High School.
Unfortunately for the ‘Dogs, the same result happened.
The Cardinals defeated the Bulldogs 10-4 to advance to today's state title game. Spiro ends the season at 27-7.
