Spiro Bulldogs see eight-game winning streak, home playoff game go by the boards in loss to Checotah on Friday night; Bulldogs will hit the road to face Hilldale to begin Class 3A playoffs next week

November 9, 2013

CHECOTAH — The Spiro Bulldogs just had to win, and they were going to be District 3A-8 champions and have two home playoff games.
None of that is going to happen now as they suffered a 43-28 loss to the Checotah Wildcats on Friday night at Ogle Field to see their eight-game winning streak snapped.
The loss ended up putting the ’Dogs (8-2, 6-1) as the third-seeded team from the district, meaning a road game against the Hilldale Hornets at 7:30 p.m. next Friday to begin the Class 3A playoffs.
