Spiro Bulldogs show improvement in Stilwell scrimmage Friday night

August 28, 2012

STILWELL — In the eyes of Chris Bunch, Spiro High School's veteran football coach, his Bulldogs made improvement in Friday night's scrimmage against the Stilwell Indians from their first scrimmage the week before at Tulsa Webster along with Okmulgee.
“I think we improved from last week at Tulsa Webster,” Bunch said. “We looked a lot better, but we still have a ways to go — but we did improve.”
One of the things Bunch was hoping for was to see a better running game out of his ’Dogs, but that didn't quite happen. What did happen was two touchdown passes from quarterback Trevon Mitchem — a 50-yarder to McKinley Whitfield and a 15-yarder to Malik Walker.
