SALLISAW — Last week in the LeFlore County Tournament, it took eight innings before the Spiro Bulldogs got past the Cameron Yellowjackets. While it only took seven innings, the same thing happened Thursday night.
A run in the third inning snapped a 1-1 tie to enable the ’Dogs to get past the ’Jackets 2-1 in the Sallisaw-Central Tiger Shootout.
The ’Jackets then suffered a 6-0 loss to the host Sallisaw-Central Tigers on Friday to bump them into the consolation finals at 11 a.m. this morning.
Two archrivals met earlier on Thursday as the Pocola Indians got past the Panama Razorbacks 5-2.
Tuesday's rain made Sallisaw-Central revamp the tournament schedule. There's basically a new tournament as Friday saw quarterfinal action as well as consolation semifinal games, with the consolation championship at 11 a.m. this morning, championship semifnals at 1 and 3 p.m. this afternoon and the title game at 5 p.m.
