Spiro entertains Stigler tonight in district opener

September 27, 2013

The Spiro Bulldogs (2-1) have won two straight games, including last Friday night's 55-6 thumping of the Haskell Haymakers at McClain Stadium. Still, Spiro coach Chris Bunch said the fans still haven't seen the ‘Dogs' best yet.
“I still don't think we're where we need to be yet,” he said. “We don't have much depth. We have some kids who haven't played, and some back-ups are out. We're in need of players. We haven't had the same combination out there yet, especially on defense. I felt like we had a good game. I think we took advantage of what they gave us. That was the big thing, and that was something that we hadn't done the last couple of games.”
Now, the real season will begin, District 3A-8 play as the Bulldogs will entertain the Stigler Panthers in the district opener at 7:30 tonight at McClain Stadium.
