WILBURTON — The Spiro Lady Bulldogs were hoping to make it to tonight's title game of the Wilburton Tournament. However, the Red Oak Lady Eagles had other ideas.
The Lady Eagles flew past the Lady Bulldogs 60-36 in the championship semifinals Thursday afternoon.
The Lady Bulldogs (1-1) will play for third place at 4 p.m. Friday against the loser of Thursday night's Poteau-Wilburton game. The Lady Eagles will play the Poteau-Wilburton winner for the championship at 7 p.m. Friday.
The Spiro boys junior varsity, which were representing the Poteau Pirates who could not participate due to Saturday's Class 4A state football title game, lost 56-40 to Eufaula on Thursday afternoon after losing 48-20 Wednesday afternoon to Red Oak.
