Spiro pitcher three-hits Glenpool on Thursday in Bixby Tournament; Bulldogs face Tulsa Union, Coweta today

March 28, 2014

BIXBY — Spiro senior pitcher Hunter Wilson three-hit the Glenpool Warriors for an 8-0, five-inning, run-rule victory Thursday afternoon in the Bixby Tournament.
Wilson, making his first varsity start, struck out seven batters in five innings.
The Bulldogs broke a scoreless tie with a five-run second inning for a 5-0 lead. Spiro then added a run in the fourth, and a two-run fifth inning got the game to run-rule status.
Editor's note: Wister's home game Thursday afternoon against Smithville was moved to 4:30 this afternoon. Since Smithville's game today was originally scheduled at Heavener, it was unknown at press time if the Wolves would join the action at Wister to form a three-way.
