Spiro wants to keep momentum going with win at Hugo Friday night

October 6, 2011

The Spiro Bulldogs not only snapped their three-game losing streak last week in a 34-19 win over the Eufaula Ironheads last Friday night at McClain Stadium, but they also may have salvaged their season.
But to keep their postseason hopes alive, the ’Dogs (2-3 overall, 1-1 in District 3A-8 play) will need to keep the momentum going when they hit the road for a 7:30 p.m. Friday game against the Hugo Buffaloes (1-4, 0-2) — who lost last week's 3A-8 contest 21-0 to Atoka.
“Right now, every game we play is a season-saving game,” Spiro Coach Chris Bunch said. “We can't afford to drop further into the hole that we're already in. Every game is tough for us right now. We are still making mistakes. We have to cut down on our turnovers and mistakes.”
