The Pirates softball team will have a hamburger meal fundraiser from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 18 in front of Costner Stadium in the northeast corner of the parking lot by the signal light at Stadium Drive.
Hamburger/cheeseburger baskets cost $6, and orders may be placed by calling (918) 647-1694 or (918) 721-4635.
Orders can be delivered if need be. All proceeds will help fund the team's trip to the World Series, which will be July 19-21 in Shawnee.

The Carl Albert State College first-ever half marathon run has been slated for March 29, 2014.
This will take lots of partners, volunteers and community involvement.
For those who would like to be on the planning team, there will be a meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Costner Ballentine Center.

Registration is open for the 2013 LeFlore County Express Fall Soccer League.
Registration can be done through the Internet at www.leflorecountysoccer.com.
Late registration cost per child is $40.

The Poteau Area Recreational Complex will have the Coed ASA District Tournament July 19-20.
Entry fee is $175 per team.
Deadline for entry is 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Teams must pay with cashier's check, money order, or cash.

There will be age 8-, 10- and 12-and-younger softball leagues at the Poteau Area Recreational Complex this fall.
The entry fee is $250 for 8- and 10-and-younger teams, while the entry fee is $300 for the 12-and-younger teams.
Games will begin the week of Sept. 16 and end the week of Oct. 23.

The third annual Glidewell Memorial Softball Tournament will take place Friday through Sunday at Ben Geren Park in Fort Smith, Ark.
The entry fee is $200 per team.
There are four different divisions — men's class C, D and E as well as coed.
