SUMMER SCHOOL — Youth participate in Tuesday morning’s first day of the 2014 Poteau Kiwanis Club’s “Learn-to-Swim Program” at Twyman Pool. The Wolf Ridge Junior Golf Clinic will take place every Wednesday for the next three Wednesdays at Wolf Ridge Country Club.
The clinic is open to youth ages 5 and older.
The clinic for ages 5 to 17 will be from 4 to 5 p.m. every Wednesday for the next four weeks. Cost is $10 per golfer per session.
The clinic for ages 18 and older will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. every Wednesday for four weeks. Cost is $20 per golfer per session.

The eighth annual Choctaw Country Club Church League season will begin at 6 p.m. Monday. The opening night of the league was rained out this past Monday night.
The league will run every Monday until July 28.
The entry fee is $45 per three-player team. There will be a $5 green fee per night for each player that is not a member of Choctaw Country Club. The age limit has been dropped, but those youth ages 13 and younger will hit from the red tees.
The teams will consist of three players, men and/or women and/or children ages 12 or older. Each player will get one mulligan per round, and teams will be flighted after Week 4 action.
The league is open to the first 24 teams.

The 2014 Choctaw Country Club Junior Golf Clinic will take place every Tuesday for the next seven weeks. The clinic will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday.
The entry fee is $10 per child per week, which includes drinks each week. All ages are welcome.
At the end of the eight-week clinic, there will be a tournament, a cookout and a pool party. For additional information, call (918) 647-3488.

The 2014 Father/Son-Daughter Golf Tournament will be Saturday at Choctaw Country Club.
The entry fee for the nine-hole scramble is $25 per team.
There will be a trophy division for the teams with sons and/or daughters still in school. Prizes awarded in this division will be based upon the number of teams in the field. The nine-hole scramble for this division will be at 10 a.m.
There will be an open division for the teams with sons and/or daughters who are out of school. There will be 90 percent cash payout based upon the number of teams in the field. The 18-hole best-ball formatted action will begin with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

The "Camp of Champions" basketball camp will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Wednesday on Chris Gillespie Court at Ray Henson Gymnasium at Talihina High School.
Registration will take place at 7:30 a.m. Monday.
The cost is $40 per camper, who will be provided the fundamentals on dribbling, passing, shooting, defensive and offensive strategies, sportsmanship and teamwork.

The Greenwood [Ark.] Wrestling Camp will take place this month at the rock gym in Greenwood.
The camp is open for students from kindergarten to 12th grade.
The camp for the kindergarten to the third grade is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Wednesday.
The camp for fourth through eighth grade will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
The camp for high school students will be from 11 to 1 p.m. Wednesday through next Friday.
The cost is $60 per camper, or $40 per camper if there are more than one camper in the family going to attend the camp.

The 49th annual Choctaw Country Club Invitational Golf Tournament will be June 21-22.
This year, there is a new format for the tournament with fourball on Day 1 and a scramble on Day 2 for the two-man teams.
Entry fee is $350 per team which includes the two rounds of golf, a practice round on June 20 and a steak dinner and entertainment on June 21.

The 17th annual Poteau Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament will begin at 1 p.m. June 23 at Wolf Ridge Country Club. Registration and lunch will begin at noon.
Pre-registration deadline is today in order to be guaranteed a T-shirt.
Entry fee is $130 per two-man team or $65 per individual. Mulligans and other extras can be purchased on June 23.

The first annual Couples Tournament will take place with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. June 28 at Wolf Ridge Country Club.
The entry fee is $150 per two-person team, which will be comprised of one male and one female. The cost includes a golf cart, two mulligans per player and lunch.

The Heavener Ballpark and Heavener Chamber of Commerce will have a 7-3 Coed Softball Tournament July 5 at Blues Park.
The entry fee is $125 per team that includes hitting a maximum of five home runs or $150 per team that includes hitting an unlimited number of home runs.
Men hit any 44 core ball and women hit any ball.
The first-place team will receive $150 plus T-shirts, while the runners-up will receive $75 plus T-shirts. For additional information, call Tim Davis at (918) 413-2308.

The 2014 Spider Webb Invitational will take place July 12-13 at Wolf Ridge Country Club. A practice round will take place July 11.
