The 2011 Poteau Pirate Football Banquet will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the Bob Lee Kidd Civic Center.
Tickets cost $20 per person and can be purchased at Sanders and Sullivan Law Office (323 Dewey Avenue), Warehouse Willy's (300 Dewey Avenue), J-N-B Tire and Lube (2201 North Broadway) and First National Bank in Poteau.
Remaining tickets will also be made available at the door Friday night. Seating is limited.
Former Oklahoma Sooner quarterback Paul Thompson will be the keynote speaker.

The Poteau Chip-In Club will have a golf benefit at 11 a.m. Saturday at Choctaw Country Club.
The entry fee for the four-person scramble is $25 per player.
All proceeds raised will go to the Poteau High School golf teams.

There will be a basketball tournament for grades three through six Nov. 18-19 at the Spiro Gym.
The entry fee is $125 per team with a three-game guarantee.

The Boys and Girls Club of LeFlore County will have a basketball tournament for boys and girls in grades three through six Dec. 3-4 at the Pansy Kidd Middle School Gym.
Cost to enter is $100 per team. Registration forms are available at the LCBGC office at 205 Dewey Avenue, Suite 6 in downtown Poteau.

The Satchel Paige Travel Baseball Team is looking for youth baseball players between the ages of 11-12, 13-14, 15-16 and 17-19 years old that would like to be a part of our Phoenix Christmas Baseball Tournament Team Dec. 26-31 and/or the 2012 Summer Travel Baseball Team that will include trips to Cincinnati, Omaha, Neb., Orlando, Fla., and Puerto Rico.
