The 47th Spider Webb Two-Person Scramble Golf Tournament will take place July 14-15 at Choctaw Country Club.
The entry fee for the two-person scramble is $175 per golfer, which includes range balls and a practice round on July 13 and dinner on July 14.

Friday Couple Scrambles will take place at 5:30 p.m. every Friday at Wolf Ridge Golf Course.

There will be an age 8- and age 10-and-younger machine pitch softball tournament Friday through Sunday at Duncan's Hines Park.
The entry fee for the three-game guarantee event is $150 per team.
For those teams which are not registered with the Amateur Softball Association, they can do so for a fee of $25.
The deadline to enter is Thursday.

Any church interested in playing in the 2012 Poteau Coed Church League this summer needs to call Billy Bond at (918) 647-1939.
Entry Fee is $400 per team. Deadline for entry is Thursday. There will be two divisions if enough teams enter. All teams must pay before their team will be entered into the league. The season will begin on Monday.

The 2012 Poteau Quarterback Club Youth Football Camp will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. July 30-Aug. 1 at Costner Stadium.
The cost is $25 per participant.

Northeastern Oklahoma State University is having several baseball/softball camps.
The NSU Hitting Intensity Camp will be July 9-10 at Thomas Rousey Field. The camp is open to baseball players who are from age 12 up through 2013 high school graduates. Cost is $50 per camper.
The NSU High School Baseball Prospect Camp will take place Aug. 11. The camp is open to high school baseball players who graduated in May or who will graduate in 2013-16.

Eastern Oklahoma State College Baseball Camps will take place this month. One session will be 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and next Tuesday and the other will be from 6 to 9 p.m. July 16-17.
Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. on the first day of each camp. The camps are open to players who are ages 5 to 12. The entry fee is $60 per camper, which includes a camp T-shirt. For additional information, call (918) 465-1704.

The Poteau Fall Softball League will be Sept. 17-Oct. 25.
The league will have three divisions, ages 12-, 10- and 8-and-younger. There will be six teams in the age 12-and-younger league, while the other two leagues will have 12 teams. The entry fee is $300 per team for the age 12-and-younger league, while the entry fee is $250 per team in the other two leagues.
The age 12-and-younger league will play games beginning at 6 p.m. Mondays, 10-and-younger league games will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday and league games for the age 8-and-younger league is 6 p.m. Thursdays.

The entry fee for the double-elimination tournament is $175 per team, with the deadline of noon Thursday to enter.

The Smithville Lady Braves Softball Clinic will take place July 12-13. The guest instructor will be former Red Oak Lady Eagle and current Oklahoma Sooner third baseman Javen Henson, whose Sooners came in national runners-up to Alabama at this month's Women's College World Series.
The fielding session will take place July 12, while the batting session will be July 13. The entry fee for one day is $20 or $35 for both days.
The camp for ages 8-12 will be from 9 a.m. to noon each day, while the camp for ages 13-18 will be from 1 to 4 p.m. each day. For additional information, call Jana White at (580) 209-2310.

The Sam Bradford Football ProCamp presented by Chesapeake Energy and in partnership with The Oklahoman will be July 10-11 at the University of Oklahoma Intramural Fields. Bradford will be on site the entire camp to direct camp activities and provide instruction. He will be joined by a selection of the top prep and college coaches from the Norman area.
The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7 to 14 and focuses on the team concept and fundamentals of football. Groups will be small to ensure that each camper gets personalized instruction.
Bradford, a former OU quarterback, Heisman Trophy winner and current St. Louis Rams quarterback, will also give daily talks highlighting the finer points of the game of football and beyond. Each camper receives an autographed camp team photo with Bradford, camp T-shirt, goodie bag and the opportunity to win additional prizes.

The Boys and Girls Club of McAlester will put on a competitive baseball and softball league.
It is believed sports encourages a healthy lifestyle in our youth, which is a rising concern to many. Sports also promotes high self esteem in children that will benefit them in many aspects.
