Spring has sprung — turkeys, archery, baseball, fishing
Tonight is the night. The Annual National Wild Turkey Federation Banquet will take place tonight at the Bob Lee Kidd Civic Center in Poteau. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. It will be a great time, with good food and good people. If you did not get tickets, you can buy them at the door, so come on out and join the fun.— — —Speaking of turkeys, it is only about six weeks until turkey season. I have been practicing with my Quachita Game Calls mouth calls in preparation for opening day.If you have not gotten one yet, you need to get on the ball so you can practice up before opening day. The high school team finished first, and had the top three female shooters and the No. 2 male shooter at the meet.Jesse Bullard topped the girls' division, followed by her sister, Katie. Candice Yochum claimed the third slot on the female side.On the male side, Toby Roath was our top finisher coming in second.The junior high and elementary teams both finished third. Cailey Yochum took top honors in the female division of the elementary.
