Stanford Lee Stephens

Stanford Lee Stephens, 82, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, in Del City. Stanford was born in Panama on July 4, 1930, to Melvin Lee and Florence (Mosco) Stephens.
Stan grew up in eastern Oklahoma where he loved to fish, hunt and play cards. Later in life he moved to California and spent many years there with relatives and friends. He returned to Oklahoma in 1999 and had lived in Choctaw with his sister, Betty, since then.
Stan is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mildred Kaczyk; one niece, Merry Ogletree; and one nephew, Stephen L. Coyle.
He is survived by three brothers, Harold D. Stephens and wife, Janice, Joe B. Stephens, John Scott Stephens and wife, Sharon; four sisters, Melva J. Doyle and husband Leon, Billie Lewis and husband, John (Buddy), Norma Sue Jones and husband, Orem, and Betty Miskelly; nine nieces and seven nephews; and several cousins whom he loved dearly.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Hibbs Funeral Home Chapel in Choctaw, with burial at 3 p.m. in Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point.
