State unemployment numbers edging higher

November 26, 2013

Oklahoma's overall unemployment rate is slowly creeping higher, according to an October report from the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.
Due to the previous shutdown of the federal government, information about each county is unavailable at this time. State-wide, however, unemployment rates increased from 5.4 percent in September to 5.5 percent in October. The increase left 100,320 laborers of the state's estimated labor force of 1,812,690 unemployed.
