The 2012 He-Man Women Haters Club Poteau Chapter had its second annual He-Man Polar Bear Bass Tournament Saturday at Grasshopper Landing on Broken Bow Lake. There were 12 boats in the tournament field, with the temperatures in the 60s — it was just a perfect day.
Gary “The Jig Master” Steelman and Judd “Van Damm” Wann took home first place with a haul of 13.15 pounds and pocketing $1,000.
Haskell “Hack Attack” Higgins and “The Boy Wonder” A.J. Higgins came in second (11.64 pounds), while Jason “Glitter” Wickware and “The” Chad Warner came in third (11.23).
Eric “The Smallmouth Kid” Fairless had the big bass winner weighing 4.02 pounds, to earn $200 plus $100 from Green Country Trophy and Screen Printing.
We had a really great time all weekend fishing. We even caught walleyes.
We went to The Greatful Head Pizza Oven and Tap Room in Hochatown every night for hot wings — and the best pizza in Oklahoma, for sure.
I can't wait to go back to Hochatown and Broken Bow Lake for some of the best wintertime fishing and pizza!
